Syngenta AG MIR162 Corn Litigation
Resolution of claims by U.S. corn farmers alleging Syngenta prematurely commercialized Viptera (MIR162) genetically modified corn before gaining approval from China, a major export market. When China rejected U.S. corn shipments containing MIR162 in 2013, corn prices crashed nationwide, harming farmers who never planted Syngenta seeds. The MDL was one of the largest agricultural product liability cases in U.S. history.
Chinese-Manufactured Drywall Products Liability Litigation
Long-running litigation involving defective drywall imported from China that released sulfur compounds, causing corrosion of metal components, electrical failures, and health issues in homes. Most claims were resolved through settlements with manufacturers and suppliers over the course of the litigation.
Libor-Based Financial Instruments Antitrust Litigation

Air Crash Into the Java Sea on January 9, 2021
Wrongful death and personal injury claims arising from the crash of Sriwijaya Air Flight 182 into the Java Sea shortly after takeoff from Jakarta, killing all 62 people on board. Claims were resolved through settlements with Boeing and the airline.
Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) Products Liability Litigation
Massive pharmaceutical litigation involving the blood thinner Xarelto (rivaroxaban), alleging that Bayer and Janssen failed to adequately warn about bleeding risks. With over 31,000 historical cases, this was one of the largest pharmaceutical MDLs. Bayer and Janssen reached a $775 million settlement to resolve the litigation.
Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) ('310) Patent Litigation
Patent litigation related to the Xarelto blood thinner, involving disputes over the '310 patent. This companion MDL to the products liability case has been terminated following resolution of remaining patent disputes.
SoClean, Inc., Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation
Litigation alleging that SoClean's ozone-based CPAP cleaning devices posed respiratory health risks and that the company made misleading marketing claims about the safety and efficacy of its products. Consumer claims were largely resolved through dismissals and settlements, with only 2 cases remaining at the time of termination. A related cross-claim by Philips seeking contribution toward its own CPAP settlement was severed into a separate civil action.
Evolve Bank & Trust Customer Data Security Breach Litigation
Class action litigation arising from a cyberattack on Evolve Bank & Trust that compromised customer personal information. Evolve agreed to an $11.85 million settlement providing affected class members with credit monitoring, reimbursement of up to $3,000 for documented losses, and a flat cash payment. Settlement payments were issued in March 2026.
Xyrem (Sodium Oxybate) Antitrust Litigation
Antitrust litigation alleging that Jazz Pharmaceuticals engaged in anticompetitive conduct to delay generic competition for Xyrem (sodium oxybate), a narcolepsy medication. Plaintiffs alleged Jazz used reverse-payment patent settlements with generic manufacturers and abuse of FDA processes to maintain monopoly pricing. Litigation was resolved with the remaining cases concluded as of May 2026.
Passenger Vehicle Replacement Tires Antitrust Litigation
Antitrust litigation alleging that major tire manufacturers conspired to fix prices for passenger vehicle replacement tires sold in the United States. Plaintiffs alleged coordinated price increases and information sharing among defendants. The MDL was terminated in May 2026 following resolution of the consolidated proceedings.
