Judge Carolyn B. Kuhl has combined the S.J. and K.D.B. bellwether cases in California's JCCP 5255 into a single trial against Meta, YouTube, and Snap, reported to begin October 28, 2026 in Los Angeles. The third October plaintiff, P.M.Y., settled with TikTok and dismissed her remaining claims. It is the first addiction-injury trial since the $6 million K.G.M. verdict. A verdict would inform settlement posture but sets no per-person value; cases continue to be filed.

Florida Walks Away From Meta's $17 Billion Deal and Says It Will Go to Trial

Florida is the only state to reject its share of Meta's August 26, 2026 settlement with the attorneys general. AG James Uthmeier called the payout "peanuts" and "a rounding error" and said Florida will see Meta at trial on its Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act claim, which is coordinated in MDL-3047. No trial date has been set. The decision does not affect families' personal-injury cases, which continue separately.

Texas Court Rules TikTok Misled Parents About Child Safety Features
